Mihi Whakatau ki a Manaiakalani
The impact has been massive, professionally and personally. I feel more confident about presenting mahi using google to my students and other colleagues. I always have help around me, whether it be staff support, student support, DFI support. The journey has made life for me in the technology world more up to date and ahead of the game in a lot of ways. I find myself sharing this knowledge and information to a lot of my teaching friends outside of our kura and hear the excitement in my voice. So I am very grateful for this professional development opportunity
I appreciated the early sessions where I was able to go back and sort my google files out. Knowing that I can just put all 2020 files into one file and away was so satisfying. Thus all files for 2021 are in a more organized and accessible way. I always set up new mahi in the correct file firstly, and name the mahi appropriately (not untitled), and I know where everything is and what is in each file. I have also implemented this system into the classroom for the students to practice. This makes my teaching life much easier to follow up with student mahi. Other features of Manaiakalani have also made my planning and teaching presentations exciting and relevant to the students interest and engagement, where mahi is more interactive and visually pleasing. I am a firm believer in the pedagogy, LEARN, CREATE, SHARE.
